Welcome to DreamBox Education

Welcome to Dreambox Education

Hi, I'm Tash,
Company Founder, Family Support Worker, Specialist Teacher,
Administrator, Tea Girl and Office Cleaner!
(Yes, this is currently a one woman band!).

If you’ve found yourself in  my little corner of the internet then it’s pretty likely that somewhere, somehow autism is part of your life. So whether you are autistic yourself, or have an autistic loved one, you are very welcome here.

There is so much I want to tell you and share with you, but where to start.

I guess we should start at the beginning, with the belief that is at the very core of everything I do here at DreamBox Education.

Everyone has the right to achieve their potential and to experience life in all it’s fullness, no matter what.

I truly believe that with the right support and guidance we are all capable of so much. I’ve held that belief since I was very young so I guess, it’s no surprise I became a teacher.

I spent 10 years in the classroom. I loved it. I loved seeing the children grow and learn. I loved seeing them smile with pride as they mastered new things. I loved the way, that whilst I taught them, they also taught me things to.

Why DreamBox Education?

So, I hear you, why did I leave what was an amazing job? Because, whilst things inside my classroom were great the story I was hearing from parents was a very different one.

My first experience of supporting an autistic child was during my teacher training. Up until then I’d never really heard of autism.  This isn’t dissimilar to many parents whose first experience of autism is through their child.   But sadly, that’s where the similarities seem to end.

As a teacher I was given copious amounts of training and support so I had the knowledge and understanding to support the children in my classroom. Parents on the other hand tell me how hard it is to get information and support, how alone and uncertain they feel on their journey.

This just doesn’t make sense to me.

Parent’s are the  people who are there for their children 24/7, 365 days a year. If we aren’t helping them, then are we really helping their children?

So December 2015 saw me leave the classroom to see if this could be changed and in March 2016, after much thought and consideration, DreamBox Education was born.

What does DreamBox Education do?

I’m pleased to say it was a plan that worked.  Since March 2016 I’ve had the pleasure of supporting 100s of parents, schools and children themselves to have a greater understanding of autism and how it affects their daily life.

The parents and carers I have supported have all grown in confidence in their ability to support and advocate for their children.  In turn, enabling them to unlock their potential whilst staying true to their autistic selves.

I started with  just 1:1 family support sessions, which I love! But, there is only one of me and so many of you. So, with the aim of supporting more people I’ve added blogs, group trainings and a free facebook group.  Plus, watch this space because mid 2022 will see the launch of my downloadable resources.

I’ll leave the last words about me and DreamBox Education to my amazing clients.  I’m off to curl up with a cuppa, a good book and the cat!

Thank-you for some really informative and enlightening training- your examples are inspiring to hear.
